Year in Review – 2016

I was kept rather busy at Duarte this year and did not have a chance to post any blogs for a while.  Here are my top three memorable projects that I worked on.

#3

Project: Videos On Demand for Developer Conference
Reason:  It is simply a pleasure to work with this passionate client for five years in a row.  I was also lucky to hire many veteran members to my post production team.  Here is a photo of my crew.  I managed to stand on one foot despite the lack of sleep.

#2

Project:  Cyber Security Motion Graphic

Reason:  The client was super collaborative and responsive.  Brainstorming with the client in person is considered “luxury” these days. Assembling new combination of art directors and designers brought fresh ideas and processes to the table, which is another bonus.
Sample:  This is one of two videos for the project.

#1

Project:  Financial Inclusion 2D Animation
Reason:  It was challenging to interpret complex financial technologies with simple and playful visuals.  Illustrating the middle class in emerging markets also turned out to be no easy task.  Our resident designer (who happened to be born in one of emerging markets) nailed the animation characters.  When the client told us “my husband watched the video and understood my work for the first time,” we felt the mission was accomplished.

This is a screenshot of one of the three videos. These videos are no longer available on YouTube.
